Mobile App Development
Mobile apps built around how people actually use a phone: quickly, one-handed and often while doing something else.
A good fit when the product needs a focused phone experience, local data, background activity or access to device features.
Tell us what you are working onWhat this can include.
We design mobile experiences for small screens, interruptions and unreliable connections. We use cross-platform technology where it makes sense and write platform-specific code where the device or operating system needs it.
The exact scope depends on the product, the team and what already exists. These are the areas we can bring into the project when they are useful.
- Cross-platform apps with Flutter
- Android and iOS
- Offline-first data
- Background and device integrations
- Mobile-first web apps
- Release preparation
How we usually think about it.
- 01
Choose the platform around what the app needs to do
We look at permissions, background behavior and device APIs before deciding how much can be shared across platforms. Flutter can reduce duplicated work, but some features still need native code.
- 02
Assume people will be interrupted
Phones are used between other things. Important actions should be easy to reach, permission requests need context and the app should make sense after a connection loss or an interrupted task.
- 03
Make it obvious what the app has captured
For data-heavy products, people need to know what was recorded, what changed and what will be saved. Previews, summaries and confirmation states matter as much as the charts themselves.
A real example
SpendWise
A WianTribe product · In development
SpendWise is a WianTribe Android product in active development. Flutter handles the interface while Kotlin supports device integrations such as notification access. The product also uses previews and explicit spending rules to make imported data understandable. Home Listen and Universal Remote are Flutter apps too, and WianTribe Keyboard is a native iPhone keyboard written in Swift.
Read the SpendWise case studyA couple of common questions.
Do you build for Android and iOS?
Yes. Universal Remote is a Flutter app for iPhone and Android, Home Listen pairs an Android app with an iPhone Home Screen web app, and WianTribe Keyboard is native Swift for iPhone. We scope what each platform requires before deciding how much can be shared.
Can every feature be shared between Android and iOS?
No. Permissions, background behavior and device APIs differ. We identify those differences early so the scope reflects what each operating system actually allows.
Let’s talk
Got something you're trying to build?
You do not need a finished brief. Tell us what you are working on, what is not working yet and what you would like the product to do. We can take it from there.
