WianTribe Keyboard
Privacy policy for the WianTribe Keyboard app.
WianTribe Keyboard is designed so that your typing stays on your iPhone. Typing needs no account. Text leaves your device only when you choose an online tool such as AI writing.
This policy explains what the keyboard and its companion app do with your information.
What we collect
Nothing about your everyday typing. WianTribe does not receive what you type, and the app contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code. The only text that ever leaves your iPhone is text you choose to send to an online tool, described below. We do not sell data or use it to track you.
The only information we hold is for the optional AI account described below, and only if you choose to sign in with Apple.
What stays on your iPhone
Typing. Keystrokes, suggestions, autocorrect, swipe typing, emoji search and emoji suggestions are processed on your device. The keyboard does not keep a log of what you type.
Learned words (optional, off by default). If you turn on “Learn my words”, the keyboard stores individual words you type and which word tends to follow which, so it can suggest them. It never stores sentences. You can clear this at any time.
Clipboard history (optional, off by default). If you turn it on, the keyboard keeps up to 40 recent texts you copy while it is open, for 1, 7 or 30 days, plus anything you pin. Copies marked as passwords by password managers are skipped. You can clear it at any time.
Settings, recent emoji and pinned text are stored on your device.
Handwriting is read by Apple’s on-device text recognition. On iOS 26, translation and rewriting use Apple’s on-device models; Apple states that on-device translation content is not sent to Apple.
Clearing the app’s data, removing the keyboard or deleting the app removes this information. Your device backup may include it, as it does for other apps.
When information can leave your iPhone
Only when you choose these optional features:
Voice editor. When you record in the companion app, Apple’s speech recognition converts your voice to text. It runs on your device when supported; otherwise Apple may process the audio under Apple’s privacy policy. The keyboard itself never uses the microphone.
Optional AI account (Sign in with Apple)
Rewriting, summarising and translating text online needs an account, so we can give each person a fair daily allowance. The account is optional. Typing, suggestions, emoji, handwriting and Apple’s on-device tools work without it.
If you sign in with Apple, our service stores a one-way hash of your Apple account identifier, a hashed session token, and a count of how many AI requests you make each day. We do not receive or store your name, email address, Apple password or Apple identity token. Usage counts are deleted after 30 days, including after you delete your account.
When you use an online writing tool, the text you selected or typed in that tool is sent over HTTPS to WianTribe’s AI service, which passes it to our AI provider to produce the result. The text and result are processed in real time; WianTribe does not store them and keeps no history. The AI provider handles the text under its own terms. Your IP address is used only briefly to limit abuse.
You can sign out in the app at any time, or choose Delete AI account to remove your WianTribe account and sessions. You can also remove WianTribe from Sign in with Apple in your Apple Account settings.
Allow Full Access
iOS asks whether to “Allow Full Access” for third-party keyboards. You can type normally without it. It is needed only for clipboard history, haptics and connecting to the optional AI account. Turning it on does not start any background uploads.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
If this policy changes
If the app’s handling of information changes, the new version will be posted at this address with an updated date.
